Privacy notice

There is no privacy notice yet. The office and its counsel have not settled one, and this site is not open to the public. Nothing on this page is a policy or a commitment.

What follows describes how the software handles a message today. It is here so that anyone testing the system knows what it does. Counsel will replace this page with the office’s actual notice before any constituent uses it.

What the system stores

Your name, the email address or phone number you write from, any address you give, and the contents of your messages.

How long it is kept

Not decided. Communications with an elected official may be public records under Hawaiʻi law, and the retention window is a legal determination the office has not made. Until it does, nothing is deleted on a schedule.

Who can see it

Staff of this office. You can see your own requests by verifying the email address or phone number you used. No other constituent can see them.

Automated replies

Replies may be drafted with the help of an automated system and are reviewed by staff before they are sent. Requests involving casework, legal matters, benefits, housing or safety are always read by a person first and never sent automatically.
